This wiki site is being created to showcase the collaboration between two 5th grade classes at Forest Heights Performing Arts Academic Magnet (FHAM) and the Smithsonian Institute.

  • It involves the components of writing, technology, video conferencing, and collaboration. Enhancing the Louisiana Curriculum with Fine Arts Education is the objective of this collaborative project site.
  • Fifty-five fifth grade multicultural students of varying socio-economic backgrounds will be divided into five groups.
  • Each group will be responsible for one group page.
  • The focus of each group page will be a discussion of a Video Conference presented by the Smithsonian.

The topics of the Video Conferences are:

  1. First Americans – September
  2. Native Americans of North America – October
  3. Arts and Literature: Tall Tales - November
  4. Young America_Colonial – January
